How to lock your domain name – learn from an easy-to-follow video tutorial

In general, having your domain registered is related to some external risks such as unauthorized transfer requests. To protect the domain against such unsolicited actions, you must make sure you have a domain locking option activated for it. This service allows you to lock your domain, temporarily or permanently, and thus prevent anyone from sending transfer requests for your domain. In this light, when you need to transfer your domain away to another registrar and have enabled domain locking for it, you will need to unlock it first.

To activate domain locking for your domain you will need to make sure your registrar or host supports this service. If so, the option may come activated by default for your domain or you will need to enable it first. Locking your domain is an easy procedure illustrated for you in this how to video tutorial, shot in a regular HD format and in a YouTube version. The lock domain video will show you how to access the Domain Manager section of your NTC Hosting Control Panel and change the domain status to ‘Locked’ with just a click. The video is just an example of a regular domain locking procedure, so the procedure supported by your registrar or web hosting provider should be similar.
