A new video lesson: How to check your disk space usage

Ensuring that you have enough disk space in your web hosting account for your sites to operate and grow online must always be your priority care. Considering the fact that the emails and the installed software on your sites are also counted in calculating the disk space usage consumption, you should be very careful about reaching the allocated quota limits. This will help you avoid any possible downtime for your services. To keep track of your disk space usage, you will need to use the stats interface integrated into your host’s Control Panel.

To see an example of such interface, take a look at our check disk space usage video, showing you how to track the disk space usage for your web hosting account from the NTC Hosting Control Panel. You will find two ways to do that – through the Account Usage table, located in the left-hand sidebar, or through the grey progress bar located in the top right corner of the File Manager tool. The storage use values are displayed in megabytes (right above the disk usage progress bar) and in percents (in the progress bar itself). Also, check what is the option for you to ensure the smooth functioning of your web hosting account, if you happen to come close to your disk space limit.

Our next video tutorial will teach you how to keep a 24/7 eye on your sites’ traffic usage.
