.UK domain names now open for registration (free with a hosting plan)
After .UK were officially launched for registration online by Nominet – the registry in charge of .UK domains, you can now take grab your own unique .UK domain name from NTC Hosting too.
The new .UK comes as a response to the growing demand for a shorter and hence smarter extension for United Kingdom related domains. Also, as the pool of attractive .CO.UK domains was getting smaller every day, there was a need for an alternative UK TLD that would open up new online horizons for individuals and businesses.
The new .UK domain is available for registration along with the well-established .CO.UK domain and the other UK extensions like .ORG.UK and .ME.UK.
According to Nominet, the existing .CO.UK domain holders will be offered the shorter .UK equivalent of their current address first. They will have 5 years to decide whether they want to use it along with, or instead of the domain they have already registered. The registry will be contacting these owners personally to ensure that they are aware of this policy.
The .UK domains are now available at the same price as the other UK extensions. Also, you can get your own .UK domain for free with any of our web hosting packages.
