With the variety of top level domain names now available online, today TLDs are more often recognized as a site purpose identifying factor than just a technical feature serving to connect your site with the DNS environment. Of all TLDs, there are just a few specific extensions that serve personal sites, exclusively. Of them, only two – the .NAME domain and the .ME domain, are open to all registrants from around the world. While .NAME is the only official domain for personal profiles, .ME is actually the country-code TLD for Montenegro, but it has also gained a global recognition as a ‘personal domain’.
