Reserve a killer domain for future use by means of domain name parking. Watch our how-to video!

Generally, registering a domain name is associated with setting up a website that will come up when typing that domain in the address bar of a browser. Domain registration, however, is an independent service and you do not necessarily need to build a website for your new domain right after obtaining it. Given the fact that hundreds of available domains find their owners every minute, it has become a common practice for users to register domains they consider fit for future use before anyone else does it. That could be for the purposes of a future online project of theirs, for web traffic redirection or for reselling the domain to another party at a really good price. In all cases – users need to take advantage of a domain parking service that will help them benefit from their domains before the latter start to be used as actual website addresses.

With domain name parking in action users can secure a domain they find valuable potential in without needing to actually use it, for as much time as they wish. It works like that – when a domain is registered the user has the option to ‘park’ the domain in two different ways – by pointing it to a specific parking page (either provided by the registrar or a custom one) or to a completely different web address. In both cases users are free to customize the parking location. They can define the layout of the parking page and place a message that is targeted at their potential audience, specifically (e.g. that could be an ‘Under Construction’ page, or a domain-for-sale advertising page ). If they prefer to use the domain for traffic redirection and thus bring fresh visitors to an established website of theirs, they could point the domain to that particular web address.

The domain parking option for newly registered domains might seem a bit confusing to you if you have never made use of it. To help you get into the basics of domain parking, we have shot a video tutorial showcasing how to park a domain name in a few quick steps. For a better illustration of this operation, we have used the parking domains wizard integrated into the NTC Hosting Control Panel. The video, however, will be equally informative for all of you, no matter whether you are a customer of  NTC Hosting or not, since it reflects the regular domain parking practice. Basically, the video will present to you the main options for making the most of your no-web-site-associated domain name. These are opportunities you must not miss, definitely!
